Client:
Oxford Preservation Trust
Project Outline:
We
were appointed as Project Managers to Oxford Preservation Trust.
Budget: £5.4 Million
The
Castle project involved the restoration of a group of grade 1 listed
buildings, structures and scheduled ancient monuments to allow the
interpretation of 1,000 years of history based on the continuous
use of the site as the seat of power and authority in Oxfordshire.
The project has formed a new heritage centre for Oxford, with a visitors
centre, shop, education centre and cafe.
The scheme offers a new perspective on the history of Oxford outside the University, and creates a striking public space for Oxford, giving its residents a renewed sense of place and pride in their heritage.
