Helen Tan - Assistant Project Manager

Helen joined us in October last year as Assistant Project Manager and is currently undertaking a structured training programme for her RICS Professional Qualifications.

"Working at TCA has given me the opportunity to participate in the pre-contract work on the Toilet Extension Project at Oxford Brookes University.  I have been involved in the feasibility study, cost report, tender preparation and tender analysis.  Regular site visits have also enabled me to have a greater impact on works on site due to an understanding of the wider objectives of the project.

Working on the restoration and refurbishment of The Abbey, Sutton Courtenay into a retreat and conference facility has provided me with the opportunity to gain experience on working with a Grade I listed Building.  Being involved in the Design Team Meetings enables me to be aware of the constraints involved in the restoration works and also gain experience in the  extension and refurbishment of existing out buildings to form a modern and environmentally friendly residential accommodation for attendees and delegates" Helen Tan.

Joey Drejer - 13 week work experience placement following completion of a Bsc in Architectural Technology & Construction Management on Industrial Placement from Oldbury University, Denmark.

"I have gained invaluable experience in working with The Clarkson Alliance.  During my time here I have gained a good insight into the UK Construction Industry.  There are a few differences, but many similarities with the Construction Industry of my home country of Denmark.

During my stay I have attended several meetings and all parties have been very kind, took the time to explain something if needed and valued my opinion equally.  I have had the opportunity to work with some very experienced people at The Clarkson Alliance, from whom I have learned a great deal, especially regarding customer services, the importance of having proper documentation and in general, the importance of a good information network."
